We are gathered here today
To witness two elements wed
A couple formed from an ionic bond
The marriage of chlorine and lead
To start off this holy bonding
The chlorine gladly accepts
Electrons donated by the lead
And in ion form now they are kept
This exchange of charge causes attraction
Between the new ions of chlorine and lead
The cation and anion come together
And now the holy vows may be said
I, Lead, take thee, Chlorine,
To be my chemically bonded anion
To have and to attract, from this day forward
Forever I shall be your faithful cation
For better or for worse
In solution or as a pure compound
To love and to cherish
Till by another chemical reaction were unbound.
And these words chlorine also spoke
Bonding like a perfect chemical bride
The marriage reaction is finally in equilibrium
And they are now pronounced lead chloride

They say you can't get to know a person 'till you crawl into their shoes and walk around in them. Well, I tried that, but it only made me realize they had very big feet.
